It has been awhile since I've posted an entry. For the most part, we continue to sit down in front of the telly each evening at 5pm, usually with some cheese and crackers, and listen to what's new, and what the latest testing, postive cases, and death tolls are, as well as where the virus is spreading to. Last evening was no different, although not much was said at the evening update. Essentially, to continue to lockdown and adhere to social distancing, particularly with the beautiful springtime weather. Earlier in the newscast, footage of people visiting parks and beaches were shown-masses of people moving about, on bike, on foot, some lounging in the grass, on park benches. NOT a picture of social distancing. Many of those pictures were in vacation and coastal areas, and London. Here in the Northwest, people seem to be continuing to take the mandate very seriously. There are murmurings and speculations that the freedom to go outside to exercise once daily may be revoked, if people do not follow the rules.
I do find it difficult to believe that they would restrict the daily exercise. People need to get outdoors for their mental health, and to walk their dogs. So many reports relating to keeping your mental health positive, and getting outside to get a little exercise. Time will tell if this will be restricted further.
Last evening, the Queen addressed the nation and the Commonwealth. "We will meet again."
Also, last evening, Boris Johnson was admitted to hospital with continued symptoms of the Corona Virus, which he has been self-isolating for 10 days, when he was tested as positive on the 27th of March. He was admitted for routine testing and observation.
On Sunday, the Department of Health and Social Care said 621 more people had died in hospital in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus, taking the total death toll to 4,934.
As of 09:00 BST on Sunday, 47,806 people had tested positive for coronavirus, the department said.
