Wednesday, 18th of March, 2020

Today is Day 3 of our Quarantine.  Boris Johnson, Prime Minister, has said all schools will close, as of end of school day on Friday.  All I can say is, "It's about time."  Government says they haven't closed before this, as children are unaffected.  Are children not carriers?  When ANYONE in the household has a persistent cough/high fever, the entire household should go into quarantine?  Schools in Wales and Scotland already are closed.  I think the schools should have closed sooner, and I also think more testing should be taking place.  They currently are only testing for Covid-19 if you are in the hospital with the signs/symptoms of the virus.  So there could be many more people affected, but not reflected in the numbers.  Rather falsely reporting the number effected.  We stopped all activities last week.  This week, it seems we are getting all the messages of things closing/cancelling.  Scouts, music lessons, running club, both my calligraphy courses, etc.
Our family has been taking the quarantine very seriously; not going anywhere.  News reports are that there continues to be a lot of movement in London.  There is talk that a lockdown of London may take place as soon as next week, with businesses closed, and restrictions on travel about London.  London at this point is the worst affected area of England, and is "ahead of the curve".

As of 9am on 18 March 2020, 56,221 people have been tested in the UK, of which 53,595 were confirmed negative and 2,626 were confirmed positive. 103 patients in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.  There are 5 confirmed cases in CWAC.
